About
Hey, I’m Jamie Wright, a photographer born and bred in Glasgow, Scotland.
My love for photography started when I was a kid, tearing around the city on my BMX. I was always the one with a camera in hand, ready to capture my mates landing (and sometimes failing) some pretty sick stunts. That’s really where it all began — freezing moments of energy, character, and movement that told their own story.
My first camera was a Canon 600D, bought second-hand off eBay. I didn’t really know what I was doing, but I made it work — and that little camera taught me a lot about light, timing, and patience.
Fast forward to today, and I shoot with a Fujifilm X100VI. After being cameraless for a couple of years, this setup has completely reignited my love for photography. The beauty of the X100VI is its simplicity — small, lightweight, and no lens swapping — which means I take it pretty much everywhere with me. Whether it’s bikepacking adventures, ski trips, or even a quick session at the calisthenics park, it’s always by my side.
These days, my focus is mainly on lifestyle and street photography, often with a hint of slow-shutter work that brings a sense of motion and atmosphere into my images. My style has evolved over the years, but I’ve always had a keen eye for light and a love for good composition — turning everyday moments into something cinematic.
I’ve got a real soft spot for the film-style look — the tones, the grain, the imperfections that make each shot feel alive. I’ve yet to dive into actual film photography, but a film camera is definitely on my wishlist.
For me, photography is about storytelling — capturing raw, authentic moments that reflect the rhythm of the streets and the energy of everyday life. Through my lens, I aim to show the beauty in the ordinary and the emotion in the overlooked.
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to explore my work. I hope you find something here that speaks to you.
